2001 Alzheimer's Walk

22 September 2001

Como Park, St. Paul, Minnesota

A beautiful day and a beautiful setting for the 2001 Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.

The Master of Ceremonies gets things organized.

Even a couple of famous mice were there to encourage the walkers!

A sharp looking group of cadets.

The members of the color guard begin to line up.

Things are starting to get serious.

The color guard stands at attention as the walkers get ready.

Patriotism was running high only 11 days after the World Trade Center/Pentagon attacks.

Almost ready to get going, the colors are carried with great pride and dignity.

And they're off! The 2001 Alzheimer's Walk is under way.

The sharpest color guard in town leads the way.

The walk was 5 kilometers long and went around Lake Como.

The local media are also there to report on the walk. This was an exceptional opportunity to get the Twin Cities Squadron's mission some public exposure.

You'll never find a finer group of young people anywhere!
